Are you ready for BIER? Saturday is Divine Barrel’s FUNKtoberfest, and we’re bringing all your favorite Oktoberfest traditions out in full effect! Come hungry, come thirsty, and most of all, come ready to FEST!

Here’s the full schedule for the day:

2pm: Carolina Beer Choir kicks off with Round 1 of Stein Hoisting
3pm: Annual Pretzel Eating Contest with huge bavarian pretzels from @GWRnoda
4pm: Stein Hoisting Round 2 / Chef Kenny’s Kitchen food truck
6pm: Stein Hoisting Round 3 / Marvelous Funkshun takes the stage

Marvelous Funkshun: Featuring soaring guitar and pedal steel over a heavy groove, Marvelous Funkshun is a venue and festival favorite. The band has graced the stage with artists such as George Porter Jr. of the Meters, Eric Gales, the late Kofi Burbridge of the Derek Trucks Band, Snoop Dogg and more. Recently, they have gained attention for a smoking tribute to Jimi Hendrix with funk and sacred steel influenced versions of classic hits and cuts. Look for their new release “Instru-Mental” on all streaming platforms. Marvelous Funkshun will kick off the funk Saturday at 6pm with a set of their jams, and then transition into the Jimi Hendrix tribute around 7:45 to cap off a legendary night.

Carolina Beer Choir: Joining us as a special feature for this Saturday’s FUNKtoberfest is the Carolina Beer Choir organized by Carolina Voices! From 2-4pm, the choir will lead us on an afternoon of fun with sing-alongs, trivia and games for everyone! Oktoberfest is all about community, so let’s join together over a pint (or liter!) for an unusually lovely afternoon of celebration!
