Barrel Aged Bliss

We hope you’ll be joining us in NoDa this Saturday, March 6th, for our 3rd Anniversary bottle & can release! When we open at noon we’ll have several extremely limited barrel aged beers, as well as 4-packs of Life & Then You Die, a monster English Barleywine! Comfort in Darkness, our bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout, makes its return after resting in Willett barrels for 13 months. We also decided to bottle Comfort in Darkness Vanilla, which rested on tons of Ugandan vanilla beans! Finally, we held back a very limited quantity of bottles of Largesse Vintage 2020, which is the very first barrel aged sour bottle we ever produced. Take a second to read more about these brews:

Comfort in Darkness: BBA Imperial Stout, 10.5% ABV – This Imperial Stout spent 13 quiet months in the comfortable darkness of freshly emptied Willett bourbon barrels. This viscous, jet black beer is decadently complex with notes of roasted coffee, rich chocolate, oak, and a warming bourbon heat. Drink fresh or allow this amazing beer to evolve.

Comfort in Darkness Vanilla

Comfort in Darkness Vanilla: BBA Imperial Stout, 10.5% ABV – This Imperial Stout spent 13 quiet months in the comfortable darkness of freshly emptied Willett bourbon barrels. This viscous, jet black beer then rested on loads of Ugandan vanilla beans. Comfort in Darkness is decadently complex with notes of roasted coffee, rich chocolate, oak, a warming bourbon heat, followed by an explosion of vanilla. Life & Then You Die: English Barleywine, 13.5% ABV – Existence and death are the only two certainties we have in this game called life. This hefty English Barleywine was brewed to celebrate the journey. Sitting at 13.5% ABV this smooth beast blends lively notes of toffee, Amaretto, molasses cookies, candied figs, and a warming, smooth boozy finish thanks to its massive ABV. Live life to the fullest because nothing is guaranteed!

Largesse Vintage 2020

Largesse Vintage 2020: Mixed Culture American Wild Ale, 6.4% ABV – A mixed culture American Wild Ale that rested in red wine barrels for 18 months. Time allowed for the development of beautiful notes of bright lemony tartness, subtle strawberry and honey undertones, complex barnyard funk, and a pleasant dry, oaky finish.

What’s the Deal for Saturday?

How can you get all four of these beers? We’ll have a pre-order available on our web shop starting on Friday at noon if you want to secure yours! You can also come out on Saturday during the release to purchase bottles & cans. Since Comfort in Darkness, its variant, Life & Then You Die, & Largesse Vintage 2020 are so limited in quantity, we are setting limits at 2 bottles per brand & 2 4-packs of the Barleywine. This spreads the love a little further. We’ll also have a tent outside for bottle and can sales for anyone isn’t ready or able to come in! All four of these heavenly beers will be on tap on Saturday as well. Please remember this is not a party due to the pandemic. So please wear your masks, see our host upon arrival, and please follow the house rules! See you Saturday, friends!
